JF20: Artistís View
When Mike moved into his studio, he found a piece of slate left by the last owner.
This looked a bit like the blade of an old fashioned French guillotine!
Mike painted a golden circle on the slate, and hung it from a wooden bar.
Underneath it, like a pendulum, he hung a spiral of rusty metal. He'd found this when he was hillwalking.
Later, he made a second part for the sculpture from wood. A semicircle cut into this mirrors the circle on the 'blade'. A white vertical line under this suggests water.
At the top of the sculpture is a round float.
If the gold circle is the sun, perhaps this is the moon?
